Well amidst the loud screams and tears of Hurricane Irene the sports world is back to normal. Miss Irene decided to visit the entire northern east coast and take us on a whirlwind ride and delaying a few sporting events on way. Last night was the last sporting event that was affected by the storm, the Jets vs Giants preseason game which was slated for Saturday night was postponed til Monday night. Over the weekend, the Red Sox played 3 games within 36 hours damn near due to a back to back game (doubleheader) on Saturday. The LLWS series also have to cancel the consolation game (btw CONGRATS to the Champ California) and the Barclays was shortened to 54 holes. All in all the sporting world was able to get in all of the scheduled events. But I would like to send my “well wishes” to all of the towns, counties, and cities that affected and damaged by Hurricane Irene, although sports can be “healer of wounds” the safety and health of human kind definitely comes FIRST.
